Lana and John Cape town Elopement Wedding
When Lana approached me with her vision for their wedding shoot in Cape Town, I was bursting with excitement! You see, theirs was an elopement shoot, which meant that there were no limitations on the location or timeframe of their session. Lana is in the creative industry and provided me with a beautifully compiled brief of exactly the look she was after. She didn’t want a million pictures. She wanted a hand full of GREAT pictures. (In fact – what I’m posting here is very “extra” – but I had to include them all!)
The bride was looking for a rocky, mountainous seascape at sunset hour, with gorgeous backlighting. And I knew just the spot!
So on the day, we headed over to the breathtaking and underrated Clarence Drive just outside Gordon’s Bay, where we took our time to scout and test shoot a specific spot. Make no mistake, this spot has ALL the pretty and so many options! We headed down to the beach for some fun shots as the sun gracefully edged toward the horizon. Then it was time. We had a small window to get the perfect light in the perfect spot. Up we headed back to the selected location. Lana quickly jumped into her wedding dress (yup – it was such an “easy” dress that she took it off in between sessions so that she could effortlessly hop from rock to rock – the couple are both seasoned rock climbers and had no reservations of getting to that perfect, if somewhat awkwardly positioned rock! Could a photographer possibly ask for more?!
I was so happy with the end results and so were Lana and John. So… anyone else getting eloped? 🙂
